JERRY ROWLAND began his career with the
City of Akron Recreation Bureau as a seasonal at the Open M playground. He moved onto
Finley playground and Joy Park Community Center in 1975. He was then made Program Trainee
at Ed Davis Community Center and was promoted to Recreation Supervisor on July 26, 1978.
He was promoted to his current position as Recreation Supervisor II on October 12, 1978.Jerry
graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974 from Marymount University in Kansas.
Jerry is involved in basketball, pee wee football and softball. He feels that his job
is his hobby because it keeps him involved with the kids.
Jerry lives in west Akron with his wife, Rochelle and daughter, Morgan. Jerry also has
a son Jerry and daughters Shaemeka and Vanessa.
