| Her name is
Marcia E. Stallworth, EDFP
(Economic Development Finance Professional) Her
occupation is... the City of Akrons Economic Development Technician
She has been with the City
a couple of times,
actually. First, in 1986 as a secretary in the Law Department before she and
Ernest---her husband--- left Akron
for his seminary training. They returned five years later and Marcia landed in the
Mayors Office of Economic Development as a secretary.
Marcia is the person who
is responsible for
coordinating the development of a variety of things and activities ranging from domestic
and international marketing materials, industry publications, and economic development
literature used in Akrons global marketing efforts. She has an in-depth knowledge of
the details that allow Akron to have an effective presence in competitive international
and domestic trade fairs, global industry missions and presentations.
What does she enjoy most about the job?
"I really enjoy the challenge," she says. "No two days are ever the
same, and I feel really blessed to have the opportunity to work with a group of
professionals who are at the top of their game."
Marcia is also... nearing her 40th year of marriage
to the Reverend Ernest Stallworth. They have two sons, Ernest and JR, and three adorable
grandchildren, Ernesto, Santana, and Cassidy.
In addition to more than 20 years of experience with
the City of Akron, Marcia has developed a portfolio of skills from her experiences of
being a financial services representative, insurance and real estate agent, legal
secretary and an Economic Development Technician; she is certified by the National
Development Council as an Economic Development Finance Professional.
When she has time
she works with the Messiah
Womens Ministry and the Sunday school.
Etc
Marcia helps care for her 90 year old mother;
she also loves to travel especially by ocean liner. (Hint for Ernest: she really wants
to go to the Western Caribbean in 2011.) |
