Rentals
Looking to host a birthday party, graduation party, or baby shower? Or do you need a space to gather family and friends for a funeral dinner? We are here to help meet your needs. Our community centers have different multipurpose rooms available for rent. Please contact the individual community center you are interested in using to check the availability for what you need.
Akron Public Schools remodeled or rebuilt their facilities and made them into Community Learning Centers (CLCs) that can be used by the community after normal school hours.
When the community rooms in the elementary and middle school buildings are not in use, the Recreation & Parks division will coordinate the usage of the rooms in the CLCs from 5:00 - 10:00 PM on school days, 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM on weekends, and during the summer. CLCs are only open during programmed hours.
Community groups and other outside organizations may organize, plan and implement additional programming at the CLCs. There are opportunities for organizations to use the CLCs for meeting space, mentoring programs, tutoring, art programs, music programs, athletic programs, job training, senior programming, church services and bible study.
The primary function of the CLC division is to coordinate the scheduling of all programming at the elementary and middle school CLCs. The CLCs are open to community groups offering a program open to the public (use of space would generally be free of charge) and to private groups that are holding an event closed to the public (could be rental charge involved.)
The process to secure a CLC space includes viewing the facility to make sure it meets your needs, signing an agreement or rental contract, and securing insurance if required. Once everything is approved, the dates will be reserved on the Akron Public Schools calendar and the CLC office will place a city site director or employee at each location during the event time.
If you are interested in using a CLC space, then please contact Jeff Incorvia by email, JIncorvia@akronohio.gov, or by calling 330-375-2856.
